CSR+ January 2008This is the sixth monthly issue of Colorado Springs Record+. We continue to grow our readership, and we are greatly encouraged by the e-mails that we receive concerning the “spot on” merit of those whom we celebrate.

Our objective in bringing CSR+ to you is to highlight activities and achievements of individuals and organizations that enrich our beautiful hometown at the foot of Pikes Peak. CSR+ also brings you reviews and descriptions of cultural performances, artistic efforts, intellectual activities, and other special events in our city.

This issue of CSR+ features Daphne Greenwood, Professor of Economics at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Professor Greenwood’s passion is involving students in the proactive political environment of Colorado Springs because they will become the beneficiaries of thoughtful regional planning.

We feature Dr. Ron W. Pelton, M.D./Ph.D., award-winning surgeon whose talent as a reconstructive specialist has improved the lives of his patients in ways we cannot begin to describe.

In order to spice up your post-holiday doldrums, we suggest you visit Carlos Bistro and Oyster Bar, where you will be treated in the manner in which you would like to become accustomed, and better still, enjoy the cuisine of culinary master specialists from the international scene.

If you know of any individual or organization that has made a positive and significant difference in Colorado Springs, please send an e-mail to editor@coloradosprings.org. Include name, address, and your reason for nominating this person or organization for recognition. In future weshall include achievement reports from K-12 schools within our area. If you are a student or a parent of a student in K-12, please encourage your child to become a reporter for us.

We presently produce CR+ as an Internet-only magazine. Once we obtain sponsors and advertisers, we shall publish hard copies as well. Please tell your friends about CSR+. We invite potential sponsors and advertisers to contact us at marketing@colosprings.org.

All the best to you and yours this first month of

2008. We wish you health, prosperity, and much joy.

Sincerely,

J and M
Jugal Kalita and Margaret Mistry
